Two major developments — an office tower and a luxury apartment complex — are under construction near the Pasadena Playhouse theater.  The developments are the latest in a movement to energize Pasadena and draw more people to the area.

Located in the heart of the Playhouse District, the Playhouse Plaza is a five story building, comprised of approximately 155,002 square feet of office space with high quality restaurant and retail opportunities on the ground floor.  It will provide approximately 367 underground parking spaces that will also serve the surrounding area after business hours.  The expected completion date is April 2015 at a cost of $75-million.

Union Village is a high end apartment complex that will range in size from two stories to six stories.  It will consist of 118 units with stores, restaurants and underground parking.  The developer’s goals are to cater to young professionals and empty nesters.  The expected completion date is January 2016 at a cost of $50-million.
